Drain Cleaners
Aside from using a jetter, there are many products available to unclog a drain or blockage. Caustic liquids are used to dissolve grease and hair clogs, usually in the form of Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide.
This theoretically results in dense foam forming a seal over the waste pipe, trapping caustic gases inside the pipe, with an additional foam coating applied down the waste pipe to remove more than the initial blockage causer.
As an alternative to jetting (which can be at pressures of up to 4000 Psi), “air bursts” of Carbon Dioxide can be used to rupture blockage membranes. In addition, simple boiling water can sometimes be enough to clear a blockage, or a combination of baking soda and vinegar for a more ecologically friendly, albeit less effective approach.
